Poets

Image
There are many great poets out there, some have passed on, but it is still good to read the art of someone who was once here, and people who still are... Rupi Kaur Robert Frost Edgar Allen Poe Emily Dickinson

Image
I don't know if I belong Where I belong Do I belong? I am never the first option I am usually, if not always the forgotten It can get lonely When you realize you aren't a choice I don't want to be lonely I don't like being lonely I am only not lonely When I am with you

Poetry month: Tupac

Image
Poetry Mont: Tupac April is national poetry month, and this time they're doing something a bit different. Tupac, a late poet, rapper, songwriter, and activist is still living on thanks to his estate. They have decided to launch a poetry competition in his honor and even release some new merch to come with it. If you are a poet who was interested in Tupac, I recommend trying out for this competition and getting your creative abilities out there.

Fading Petals

Image
The cherry blossom petals are gently blowing through the breeze The day is silent The sky is bare I stare up at the tree The petals are leaving just as fast as they came Just as you are You're fading Parts of you are leaving that I desperately miss I hope they come back But I know when they do They'll fade just as fast

Peeled Alive : Utilizing Your Creative Mind

Image
Many aspiring poets struggle to utilize their creativity with symbolism, vivid imagery, and personification. These are important parts of a poets repertoire and contributes largely to the effort to draw in their audience and keep them returning to read more. If you may be struggling with this problem, practice your use of these important writing devices. Try to write about random things around your house to kick start your creative mind. As an example, recently, I wrote a poem from the perspective of a banana. It is as follow : "Peeled Alive" by Brandon Shaffer From my bag, I hear men talk. Towards me, they commence their walk. To the pantry, they go down. To a peasant, I give my crown. Our small hearts are filled with fear. By any sound that we doth hear. The foreign house is rather cold. From a tropical region we were sold. Throughout my years, I have yellowed While the giants' stomachs deeply bellowed. My vulnerable being starts to qua...

Bones

Image
We all start out in life as a collection of bones As we grow the number of bones gets smaller We form into business men, doctors, mechanics We put a wear and tear on our bones The bones we made conform to societal standards so we'd hear "I'm proud" But we all have the same bones New or old Bad or good Never once do we do what we want for our bones We never say we want to be an astronaut, ballerina, or musician Because society tells our bones "stupid dreams" Then we inch closer to the end of our lives Gone Our bones break down And we end with the same large amount we started off with in life Disintegrated

Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish

Lyrics

Ocean Eyes

Image
Ocean eyes Nothing compares to how the stars shine in your ocean eyes Not rivers, nor streams, nor ponds when they move in the breeze Your ocean eyes are what reflects the stars, the sun, and the brutalities of life Don't let anything taint your ocean eyes

Bedroom Eyes by Crywolf

Image
Lyrics : Come down love, b urning in the cold Tell me you're not coming home And i'll stop waiting by the phone Bedroom eyes, I asked you what you'd change Tell me i'm not what you want And I will leave you all alone Floating high and looking down Will I see you from the ground? Side note: Crywolf has gotten me through a lot of hard times with his other word voice and lyrics, and this song is one of his most beautifully versed along with the sound. it's almost like listening to a dream.

screams

Screaming on the inside The screams on the outside are louder Running from the outside screams and hiding behind the inside screams became her new safety Half of her broke free to a new place Found friends that became the pieces of her that had been lost Found love that became her other half And silenced her screams And turned them into whispers of love
